• It is completely understandable that the 365-day offer is not for everyone. But that's exactly why we still have the option of purchasing an upgrade with an unlimited license, as before. So for someone who doesn't like the new model, everything stays the same.
  Apart from that, the new model is also quite suitable for many, which is why we introduced it. For some, it is financially advantageous if they only have to pay EUR 12 instead of EUR 45. Even if this occurs annually, it is manageable for those who have little money.
  At least as important, however, are those users who wish that new, large functions would not only be added to the program in a few years' time, but more regularly if, for example, they have proposed a new function themselves. With an annual license you then have an advantage.
  For us, the annual license is not a financial advantage for the foreseeable future, because we will then be challenged in a completely different way.

• Can it be installed on a NAS drive?

  I have been using your software, Ham Office and Ham Atlas for many years. As a Mac user, I always had the AFU programs running on a Windows laptop. That always bothered me, but I still didn't want to do without the great logbook.
  In the meantime I have changed everything. I am using Parallel Desktop 11 with Windows 10 on my iMac. Your programs run excellently under this configuration and there are no problems with either the CAT control or the online connection to various clusters or e.g. QRZ.COM.

  Important points to consider: The Ham Office databases should also be saved on the virtual machine during installation. The browser of the virtual Windows machine must be used for the updates so that everything runs smoothly.

• How do I install two HAM Office programs on one PC?

• The HAM Office installation program only allows a one-time installation on a PC. To install two programs, proceed as follows:

  Variant 1: During the installation of the first program, you do not specify two different folders as target directories for the program and data, but always the same folder. This folder must not be located in the main "Applications" folder. After the installation all files and folders of HAM Office are in this one folder. The program will NOT start at the end of the installation.
  A new folder will now be created on the hard drive. Everything that is contained in the other folder is copied into this new folder.
  You then have two folders on the hard disk, each containing all data and files.
  HAM Office can now be started in each of the two folders and the relevant registry key can be entered

  Variant 2: If HAM Office is already installed on the PC, then you create a new folder for the second program. This folder must not be in the main "Programs" folder.
  After that, all files and folders from the installed program will be copied into this new folder. It is very likely that the program files of the existing program are in c: \ programs (x86) and the data files in "My Documents".
  The new folder then contains all of the HAM Office data and files.
  HAM Office can now be started in this folder. After calling up the menu item "Help - Info", the second registration key can be entered after clicking on the existing callsign.

• PowerSDR and HAM Office

  Steps for coupling HamOffice with PowerSDR for the various Flex TRX under Windows 7 / 32bit; for other operating systems it should work the same way:
  1. Get the com0com program from the Internet, install it (see appendix) and use it to set up 1 pair of virtual com interfaces, e.g. com 7 and com 17. 2. The CAT interfaces from HamOffice and PowerSDR each offer several emulations of commercial transceivers; I have set the Kenwood TS480 in HamOffice and PowerSDR.
  3. HamOffice I then assigned port com7 and PowerSDR to port 17 and that was it!
  The coupling works fine in both directions.
  Working with the coupled programs, on the other hand, requires special concentration because the mouse and keyboard (which are used in both programs) are only active in the program that is currently in focus; If, for example, I have just changed the frequency in PowerSDR with a mouse or keyboard and then want to enter a call in HamOffice with the keyboard, I must first transfer the focus from PowerSDR to HamOffice with a mouse click. In principle, the transfer is also quite cumbersome with ALT + Tab.

• "Location" in LotW window

• Under certain circumstances you have a different log name in the TQSL program than in the LotW web. This must be entered in HAM Office. If TQSL says "DL0HAM - Berlin" under Location (that is the log name there), "Berlin" must be written to "Location" in HAM Office LotW window.

• Frequency offset on the IC7600

• In the main menu of the IC7600 under “OTHERS” there is the submenu item “SSB / CW Synchronous Tuning” with the positions OFF and ON. With OFF the set QRG does not change, with ON the displayed QRG is shifted when the operating mode is switched between SSB and CW. The amount by which the frequency is shifted differs depending on the CW / PITCH setting (control in the middle right on the front panel). The whole thing can be read in the operating instructions on page 133 under Chapter 10 SET MODE.

• Label printing with Dymo Labelwriter

• With HAM Label you can also print out labels using the Dymo Labelwriter. Create a card with the dimensions of the Dymo label in HAM Label under the menu item "Data - Card formats".
